Although Elm usually runs on the browser, this talk explains why it’s actually a great choice for building the backend too – and why it can be a perfect choice for a startup. We will walk through how it even works on the backend, and how wonderful life can be in such an environment!

Choon Keat started the Singapore Ruby Brigade with a few others way back then, worked at Slideshare to learn Silicon Valley, believes strongly in and contributes to open source. He’s interested in improving how things are done. He likes TDD and even gave a talk about it at Gophercon. For the past 8 years, he’d been running a high traffic, low maintenance, profitable SaaS that pays for kids milk and preschool – also doubles as production playground for trying new technologies. He is now the Head of Engineering at Hobnob.ai.
